Description

A little reminder that nothing lasts forever.

The Vanitas Jaw Necklace takes the form of a miniature articulated jaw, complete with individually sculpted teeth and a working hinge that allows the mouth to open and close. Inspired by memento mori and the centuries old tradition of using symbols of mortality as reminders to live fully, it’s gothic without belonging to any particular season.

Choose from sterling silver in either a darkened oxidized finish, which emphasizes every tooth and crevice, or a bright polished finish for a cleaner sculptural look. It is also available made to order in solid 14K yellow gold for a warmer, heirloom version of the design.

The sterling silver version is finished on an 18" sterling silver box chain, while the 14K version is paired with an 18" solid 14K yellow gold box chain.
